MY GROUP OF AUTOMATONS

This has been a long time coming.  I was invited to join this group Unlimited PSP Game Downloads back when I first set up my MySpace account.  I haven't really been into gaming since the demise of Atari, who provided the ultimate in controller design.  One button and a joystick...doesn’t get much better than that.  Too may buttons on all this new shit.  Then again, dinosaurs lack opposable thumbs, which may explain my bias against needing to use fifty buttons to play a game.  However, I'm pretty indiscriminant in my adding, so I accepted the invite.  I recently decided to check out what was going on with the group.

The group is just an advertisement trying to get dumbasses to purchase a membership for some stupid download site.  What is truly sad is that some of the moronic members of this group are grateful for being targeted by this new generation of marketing schemes.  Take Catherine/Cath for example.  She comments, "
Just wanted to say thanx for the invite to join the group."  Then there's Sayae who states, "I'm new too...thanks for the add though...but what is going on? Just curious :P"  Okay, you have no idea what the purpose of this group is but you are grateful for the invite anyway.  Maybe you should check out the link to their website before you go thanking them.  Do you dipshits thank everyone who produces a  television advertisment for telling you which new products to buy?  I guess it's easier to be told what is cool, than to determine what you do or don't like all by yourself.  In fact Erich Fromm wrote a book called Escape from Freedom, in which he describes how people would rather be told what they should like and dislike and how they should live their lives rather than making those choices for themselves.  He refers to this phenomenon as automaton conformity.  I disagree with Fromm on some of the details, but all in all it's a good book and perhaps some of my fellow group members should give his work a thorough read...
